We are 4th generation farmers who have owned and operated this farm since 1929. Pictured are Ed and Holly Martin. Their sons Andrew, Michael and Jacob. Andrews wife, Kelly, with their children Stetson and Finley, Michael's wife, Rose, with their children Elias and Marie, with Jacob's girlfriend, Reagan.
Creamline milk is another way to say non-homogenized. Our milk is pasteurized, but processed as little as possible. Homogenization alters the molecular structure and takes away the thickness and sweetness of the milk. With our creamline, after sitting for 12 hours will separate, cream on top fluid milk on the bottom which is why it require you to shake before each use.
We have a mixed herd of Holsteins, Jersey, Brown Swiss, Lineback, Ayrshire and crossbreeds!
Our milk never leaves the building until it is purchased! The milk goes right from the cow to the milk tank, to the pasteurizer and then bottled all in the same place! The milk is pasteurized at a low temperature (heated to 145 degrees Fahrenheit) which better preserves the flavor and the good bacteria, as opposed to high temperature pasteurization. We do not homogenize our milk because we believe in keeping milk the way it is meant to be, in its natural state. Homogenization changes the molecular structure, which can sometimes be the reason people have a hard time digesting homogenized milk.
Our special flavors do rotate, so please inquire if they are available when you plan to visit! We currently rotate between strawberry, chocolate peanut butter, orange cream and cookies and cream!
The ingredients in our chocolate milk are pasteurized whole milk, sugar, cocoa (processed with alkali), salt, carrageenan and natural vanilla.
We currently milk about 90 cows in the barn. We have about 150 cows total, that rotate in the barn and in the pastures! We are currently expanding and adding to our herd.
Cows eat a mixture of hay, grass, corn, forage sorghum and minerals.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours and meet the cows!
